is head and shoulders good to use on a horse with dandruff? And also, is organic wool wash ok to use? is it g?
at the riding school i go to, we’re having a gymkhana and it’s my 1st! the owner told us to bring wool wash or shampoo to wash the horses and i was wondering what is good. they use synthetic and pvc tack and they sed wool wash is good 4 that. the horse i’m riding has dandruff so i thought head adn shoulders would be pretty good. ????
wool wash is for the tack not the horse. However if you are using synthetics then soap and water are just as good.
As for as head and shoulders. Yes you can use it. But a better idea is to either get the pert plus for dandruff that has conditioner or to get a horse shampoo.
The pert plus with conditioner works well and I find it almost as good as some of the horse shampoos. I used it once on my stud colt when I found out about a show the next day and I did not have anything else since I had not planned to start showing him that quickly. Either way human shampoo seldom has much of an affect on dandruff in the long term since. Horses simply have too much dandruff. You can get a medicated shampoo for horses that will take care of that. There are lots of brands so just check you tack catalog.
